Respite Care Program
The Summer Respite Care Program at Summerset offers the same quality family style care provided throughout our Assisted Living Program. Our program utilizes respite care providers who are passionate about senior care. Respite Care offers a safe and attentive environment for those persons in need of assistance for a limited amount of time.
Our Respite Care might be the answer for those people recuperating from a hospital stay. Sometimes, family members are unable to provide elderly loved ones with senior care services for a certain amount of time. You can turn to our facility to receive all the respite services you need. Long term care is not always needed from an assisted living facility. You may only need a short respite, and we are here to provide the respite care services that meet your needs. We can provide relief to the primary caregivers who need to take a vacation from their day-to-day responsibilities. Our Respite Care Program offers short or long stays depending upon each individual’s needs. Summerset’s Respite Care Program could be the short term senior care solution you need.
What is respite care?
Respite care is short-term care for seniors who need extra attention while recuperating from hospital stays. With respite care, primary caregivers are also given well-deserved rest and peace of mind knowing that their charge is being cared for in a safe environment by people who are well-trained in all levels of senior and memory care. At Summerset, we have respite care stays that range from 3 to 30 days.
Short-term care has benefits for seniors and caregivers
Caring for an aging loved one can be a challenge for many reasons. It requires constant attention and time, which are things family members may not have. Not everyone has a large extended family who can split care amongst family caregivers. That means that care of an elderly adult could fall to one or two family members. It may not be feasible for that family to provide the daily care and support their loved one needs. Temporary care is great for elders who have been hurt and need some help while they recover. Not only does our respite care program give caregivers a break to relax, spend time with other friends and family, travel, or whatever else they want to do, it also provides seniors a chance to interact with their peers in a fun, safe environment. They also have the opportunity to participate in activities they may not usually have access to. We have respite care professionals who take excellent care of the seniors in our programs, and we can expose elders to new hobbies and activities that could bring them great joy.
